Energy Analysis Software
Greenspace Live, an outgrowth of the Greenspace initiative, a UK project, is a web-based portal for energy reduction in the built environment. The aim of Greenspace Live help and encourage owners, occupiers, managers and designers of buildings to reduce the energy usage through improvements to the fabric and equipment within via a range of simple dynamic tools for analysing and reviewing the carbon footprint of one building or a portfolio of hundreds. Interesting looking suite of tools. LiveEnergy Modeller is an energy analysis plugin for Google SketchUp. LiveEnergy EPC is a building energy analysis software tool validated and approved by UK CLG (Communities and Local Government). LiveEnergy EPC is gbXML based so that easy-to- use 3D tools such as Google SketchUp with the LiveEnergy Modeller plugin, Revit, ArchiCAD and Microstation can all be used as front-end modelling systems. This is a relatively new initiative, with some training videos and an unpopulated FAQ page (Fall 2009). Unclear whether it supports weather files for Canada.
