Customization of stock plans available.
The product mix includes:
Cut Sheets re free downloadable 8.5" x11" page showing a perspective drawing of the major elevation of the house and the floor plan with room dimensions only. Accompanying text will describe the major features of the home and note what kind of site and orientation is best suited for the design.
Study Sets contain two to four 11"x17" sheets, showing a little more detail and all of the ‘flex' components of the home design - expansion/addition options, garage placements, et cetera. Like the cut sheet, the study set contains no detailed information for construction.
Construction Review Sets are a full set of construction drawings on 11"x17" sheets (typically this will be 50% of actual blueprint size). Each page is clearly marked ‘not for construction'. The construction review set allows the purchaser to work through preliminary budget issues, and to explore permit requirements with builders and municipalities.
Final Construction Drawings are full size and in either a master set (electronic file or reproducible vellum) or 8 paper sets, are the final purchase, with the cost of the construction review set rebated in the final purchase price. These drawing consist of:
- a cover sheet showing at least two 3-D model views of the home exterior elevations foundation plan
- detailed floor plans
- cross-section interior elevations (as required)
- window and door schedules
- best practice construction details, including optimal value engineering (OVE) framing plans
- barrier-free and user-friendly details
- standard wiring and plumbing diagrams (add-on to most stock house plans)
- home automation wiring schematics (add-on to most stock house plans)
- energy savings analysis (a $250 add-on to other stock house plans)
- materials list (add-on to most stock house plans)
- specifications booklet (not usually offered with other stock house plans)
All homes will have details and schematics for ‘solar ready' construction (i.e., pre-planned, pre-plumbed and pre-wired for solar thermal and photovoltaic [PV] systems). Those houses with future living space options will have a set of ‘upgrade' drawings included in the plans package.
